Two friends of mine, an old one, Felix, and a new, dear one, Steverford, got me talking about the Imperial Russian umbrella stand. Once it held Imperial canes and umbrellas; now it holds dry cleaning and a Samurai sword (just in case someone tries to get by the hounds).
