What Happened?
I mildly suggested that anyone interested might check out Hildegarde's most famous nightclub song, "Darling, Je Vous Aime Beaucoup", and I get from Ms. Bees that she has not been able to locate it on Ipod, and I've had no response from Knottyboy, who can't seem to reply at all. And, all along, I thought this new universe of available music really was. How sad. Where's Ed Grow?

QUESTION: is this ouyur lady?
Emma Kirkby Hildegarde Von Bingen O Ecclesia.mp3
Her full name was Hildegarde Loretta Sell and I think she was born in Wisconsin, although most enthusiasts of music from the 30's and 40's thought her from Europe. This, I believe, was because she was a contemporary of Marlene Dietrich. Hildegarde was immensely popular in the New York cabaret circuit and made a fortune at it.
BTW, Ian; you are right. Nat King Cole did remake the song and it was one of HIS signature songs, too. But, nothing beats Hildegarde's. Good sleuthing.
(sound of me running towards you, arms outstretched, penis flapping)
