"the" Mrs. Astor

Wednesday, July 04, 2007

I'm a bit exhausted by the fact that I was opening The Palace at ten to seven (AM!) Tuesday to help the film crew of USA's "Burn Notice" begin their filming of that popular TV series. With a little guidance, they set up The Palace as it always is, and continued a shooting begun at The Victor yesterday. Everyone involved was very polite and professional and the hour of commencing coincided with the fact that you must shoot early in the tropics. By eleven, it was over.

Amusingly, they took great care to put together a Palace as it is everyday, but came up sadly missing Geraldine and Tiffany. However, it WAS seven in the morning.

I've yet to see the show, but it got a tremendous publicity campaign and opened to great reviews to what seems to be a spy-conspiracy TV drama. They are booked through September at least here, and many of their staff hang out at The Palace.
